Here we go again with the breathing exercises…relax, relax, relax…whew!
But how can I relax when everything seems to be conspiring against me??? Last Saturday, after a grueling teaching stint in San Pablo, my sister-in-law welcomed me home with the news that ZestAir called to inform me that our Dec. 20 Manila-Davao flight at 11 am has been cancelled! Our only options are their 4 am and 6 pm flights! I called them up and insisted that we be transferred to another airline but the customer service rep told me to email a certain department and then just follow-up. Fart. Me thinks that when I call, they’ll just say that the person to approve is out since it’s a weekend, and will go to office on Monday. Grrrr talaga! First time with ZestAir, bad impression agad! Sana man lang may consuelo, like free air tickets and free hotel accommodations ‘di ba? Anyway, what choice do I have but to choose the 4 am flight (which means we leave Los Banos at 1 am) because if we choose 6 pm, traffic is going to be heavy for sure!
Anyway highway, I’m kind of all set. Here are my accomplishments so far:
1. I now know how to pipe icing on cupcakes! I ordered fondant cupcakes but since I also ordered cupcake toppers from Oriental Trading, I have to make use of them too, pandagdag man lang. The least I could do is learn to pipe a cupcake so I could stick my topper on to the cupcake. Here’s my creation (bawal mamintas, beginner ako):
2. Raviv’s outfits are already A-OK! If you have read my 26 Days To Go… post and then my Sucess! Raviv Finally… post, you know what I mean. Aside from the lion costume, I also bought safari outfit for my little big boy at SM Calamba. I bought two pairs! The first pair was bought out of desperation, when I was worrying big time about the fact that Raviv wouldn’t wear his headgear. I was not contented with the first pair because the polo and pants do not match, as in the hues are far! I kept telling the salesladies at SM that I want an almost exact match since it’s my son’s birthday. I felt sorry for him, thinking that his outfit don’t even match on his birthday, although I consoled myself that it’s just his pamalit outfit. Here’s the first pair:
I acquiesced that this be his alternate outfit, because I looked for a matching safari wear even in Alabang and found nada (na terno). Then when we were fitting his clothes, we realized that the pants were too big for him. So when hubby and I returned to SM Calamba, we looked for a belt. However, the only belts for tots we saw were leather/faux leather belts, eh what we need is…I dunno what it’s called but it’s like woven big strands of thread, and usually come together with cargo pants/cargo shorts (just see the picture below). Hubby suggested we buy him new shorts that come together with that belt. And then ta-dah!!! The shorts I picked up have an almost matching polo! Bagong deliver daw! The polo and cargo shorts look as though they were cut from the same cloth (although upon closer inspection, there’s a slight difference in color). We got size 1 for both the polo and shorts, since the next size is size 2, which is for two-year olds. But upon getting home and having Raviv try on his outfit, the shorts were too tight! As in! No surprise here because the following day when hubby went back to SM to have the shorts replaced (buti we were able to retrieve the receipt! It was thrown into the kitchen garbage can, whose contents were thrown into the household garbage drum! The receipt reeked, hehe. And, we were able to retrieve it literally a minute before the garbage truck arrived at out doorstep), Yaya Isay and I went to Dr. de Jesus’ clinic for Raviv’s regular check-up. There, Dr. de Jesus told us that Raviv’s weight is already for a two-year old! Aru josko! Hindi pa nga one year old, pan-two years old na ang timbang! No wonder Yaya Isay’s supposed ka-shifting (before yaya Jocel) backed out, nirayuma raw siya kay Raviv! Anyway, here’s pair number 2:
What do you think peeps? Which one looks better? And do you think the cap should be switched? I’m also thinking of using this combo, because the hat and belt will match:
Cupcakes and outfits: check!
Decoration: Isang malaking question mark pa!
Tell me what you think!
