Raviv has a new, old portable playground: a slide, jungle gym and swing in one! New old, because we bought it from Eric (who sells baby stuff at such a low price) a long time ago. This has been sitting around for several months, until last Sunday when Dodong (Yaya Isay’s jowa who’s also our driver/houseboy) assembled the pieces.
We put his old swing set (also bought from Eric) with this and voila! It’s as though the kids have their own bonggang playground park in our lawn!
These play sets are also light. Raviv and company were even able to bring each set to UP Freedom Park. It attracted kids, of course, which was good because Raviv and Yoona get to have more playmates. Downside was that even older kids were gravitated towards it. These play sets are durable, but not to be abused naman. I was kind of annoyed when a big kid (oversized for the play set) was using it, and all his companion (either his yaya or older sister) could mumble was a feeble, “Uy wag ka diyan,” but does not do anything when her ward does not heed (clarification: I was not annoyed at the kid; I was annoyed at his adult companion). When I left them, I told Dodong to remind them not to let the big kid go up and down the stairs or the slide, as he might destroy it. Dodong reported to me that upon his arrival, he asked Yaya Isay and co., “Uy bakit ninyo pinapabayaan ‘yang batang malaki?” Then the companion said, “E di ‘wag na! Tara na!” and then stormed away grumbling. This so annoyed me! I told Yaya Isay not to let this happen to them. I told them that on playdates, it is THEIR responsibility to make sure that their kids do not damage their playmates’ toys or hurt their playmates. They should not wait for the other party to berate Raviv as it would definitely hurt them. Especially Yaya Isay who is always very defensive and sensitive when it comes to her Raviv!
