If you want an affordable facial wash that would make your face almost-literally squeaky clean, this is it!
These past days, I can’t help but feel frustrated because aside from seeing crow’s-feet starting to form, the part beside my nose shows that my pores have become huge. Thanks but no thanks to these signs of skin ageing. For almost two years, I’ve been content using a very mild skin cleanser, as my skin type is normal to dry. But because times have changed (that is, my pores are now gaping at me every time I stare at my reflection), I scoured the supermarket last Monday for something that could tighten my pores. Then I saw Pond’s Clear Balance Smooth Pores. Honestly, I don’t normally buy Pond’s products because I find them too drugstore-y, if you know what I mean (if you don’t, I mean that these products’ claims come off to me as too cheap-to-be-true…the kind that sustains its popularity on too much airtime and temporary results. I prefer buying products that have fewer commercials).
So what made me buy this product? First, I was desperate. Second, it was very affordable. Third, it mentions something about tightening pores. And fourth, it has an ingredient that I know will work: glacial clay.
Actually, I do not know what the heck glacial clay is, but I know that clay in facial products magnet grime and oil away from the face. Thus:
face – (grime + oil) = smaller pores
And boy, my equation is right! I used the facial wash not expecting anything spectacular to happen, but then something did! This product is by far the only facial wash that made my face feel really, really clean! Aaand, it gives a tingly, cool after-feel.
Since, as I’ve said, my face is normal to dry, I don’t use this every time I wash my face. It might be TOO effective that all the oils in my face will be sucked by the clay (eureka moment: P’wede kayang pang-liposuction ito?). So I alternate using this with my gentle facial cleanser: I use Pond’s Smooth Pores in the morning, and I use my gentle cleanser at night. But if your skin is really oily, using this every time you wash your face may be a good idea 🙂
