Guys, guess USA kung asan ako ngayon. Sirit na?!? 🙂
Fourplay is a production of the UPLB Com Arts Society that features four one-act plays. Aaaand, I have a cameo role (Cameo talaga! In reality, bit player lang naman, hihi) in one of the plays, “Paperclip”!
Our (Brain Train’s) marketing head, Sargei Azurin, is directing “Paperclip”. Last week he asked me to be a part of “Paperclip”. He promised my role won’t be difficult and that I’ll attend the rehearsal only once. Tonight is that “once”.
I have a lot on my plate this week and I honestly wanted to back out. But I know the inconvenience it would cause Sargei and his team so go go go Power Rangers ako.
Grabe na-miss ko ‘to! Hindi n’yo naitatanong, but I’m a frustrated stage actress.
When I was in college I starred in my first ever play, and I really loved the late night rehearsals, the lights, the adrenaline rush and the applause. Too bad I was never able to pursue this passion. Pa’no ba naman I am not musically inclined. E ‘di ba usually sa plays may musical part talaga. And let’s not talk about dancing! Ayoko ng mga ganyang usapan! So I figured I could never be the Philippines’ next Lea Salonga, or kahit Isay Alvarez man lang.
My next moment on stage came ten years after. It was my 3-in-1 stint in our BT@20 presentation. So in retrospect, I am grateful that this role, however small, was offerred to me. At nagpabola talaga ako.
By the way, Paperclip will be shown tomorrow at 6 p.m. and on Thursday at 8 p.m. Both shows will be at the NCAS Auditorium. Tickets are sold at P80 only. Watch kayo ha! Ü If you still don’t have tickets you may buy at the entrance.
Tell me what you think!
