Sorry for the title; I’m fresh from making verbal analogy questions!
Anyhoo, Randy has been complaining that almost no one appreciates his pictures if I’m not there (in the photos). It annoys him that the malabo photos I upload on Facebook get more “Likes” than his mala-pang-Nat Geo photos.
My husband is not feeling ha? He isn’t one to think highly of himself (that’s my area of expertise. Hihi), and he’s not one to fantasize about being a true-blue photographer. And really, he’s not very particular about the Likes. Biro n’ya lang ‘yun—more of a lambing to me.
Photography is just Randy’s hobby. At first I did not want to support it, ‘coz SLRs are pretty expensive. And it used to be that only “real” photographers owned them. We even bickered about it when he wanted to buy one. Looking back, I’m glad ipinaglaban ni Randy ang pagbili ng SLR. I now realize how ridiculously kuripot we were…eto ha, imagine n’yo when we honeymooned in El Nido—one of the most beautiful resorts in the Philippines—our pictures were taken using…using…using…my Nokia 6270!!! Hahahaha!

I dunno what the people who were with us thought of us. Pero nacacahiya!!! Tuloy, our pictures were left much to be desired.

I know, I know…sayang ang view and all. But most of all I regret that the quality of these photos were not that great because ANG PAYAT KO PA DITO!!!
Anyway, my husband is the kind of man who uses everything he buys, especially if it cost a lot. And he definitely made sure his SLR is not put to waste. He has been trying to get me interested in talking about photography, but even though I took Dev Com 140 (did I? Hahaha!), I have almost zero interest in photography. Maliban na lang para sa blog. My macho-nurin husband (ang baduy ko for actually using that term. Eeew!) would drop what he’s doing when I ask him to take photos of me for my Wardrobe Diary entries (nagi-guilty ako ngayon…indeed, I have the sweetest and kindest husband. Sorry Babe ‘pag masungit ako. And thank you for being…you :)) But despite my lack of support for his hobbies, go lang siya nang go. He used to ask my opinion about his shots, and I just used to nod and continue what I was doing.
Buuuuut…not anymore. His recent photos made me appreciate him. Take a look at his shots (he’s a BS Zoology graduate and thesis na lang dapat MS Zoology na rin, hence his penchant for nature photography):
‘Di ba?!? Aminin natin, may talent ang asawa ko!
In fairness, these photos have already had almost 100 Likes. Finally, Randy the Artist has been appreciated. Truly, my husband is a Renaissance man: a businessman, a teacher, a sportsman (and huuuge sportsfan), a zoologist, and now, an artist! Parang Leonardo Da Vinci lang ang peg!
Buuuut, just like Leonardo Da Vinci whose popularity in the arts was greatly magnified because of his painting of a woman, the Mona Lisa, Randy’s “popularity” as a “photographer” is also greatly appreciated because of his photo of a woman…sino pa, e di ako!
I’ve hidden these photos from the public (yes, ako na ang feeling sikat!) for so long but I guess it’s time I acknowledge the Mona Lisa in me.
At aliping sagigilid pa ang look ko. That’s why I was hiding it from you guys. But since it’s a travesty to hide such a rare and exquisite work of art from the public, ayan, revel in my kaloshangan.
And also para mapagbigyan siya…because in a few days, he’ll celebrate his –th birthday. So Babe, ito na ang birthday gift ko sa ‘yo. In-expose ko na ang masterpiece mo. Hehe.
PS: OK fine. Ito ang tunay na masterpiece:
Thanks Babe for this shot of Raviv and me. Advance happy birthday to you! Raviv and I are this happy on an ordinary day because we have you. We love you so much Tatay! Mwah mwah mwah!!!
Tell me what you think!
