“‘Yung bagong engineer na pina-reserve ang Sanctuario de San Antonio ng Aug. 8, 2008 nang walang fiancé.”
That’s how Fleur was described to me when she was the newest employee of the real estate company where we both worked, and that’s one of the very first anecdotes I share when I talk about Fleur.
Fleur of the Mommy Fleur blog and I go a long way back. It used to be that we worked on the same project of a certain real estate company: I was site manager and she was in the turn over group. As site manager, I was assigned at the site while Fleur was assigned in our Makati office. Being assigned on the site, I was mostly with male engineers and construction workers in the province. Translation: wala akong kachika. So Fleur’s regular site visits were something I looked forward to. The first time I met her, I thought, “Ang ingay naman nito!” (as if naman I were really prim and proper!) But a few minutes of being with her, I warmed up immediately. She was the very first person with whom I shared my engagement ring problems. Why she? Because I knew she’d understand. And she did.
And because she did, I got her as my on-the-day wedding coordinator. So even if I’ve already resigned from the company where we met, we still met sporadically for the wedding preps.
After my wedding, we’d chat on messenger. Since she was the one who became a mommy first, I solicited her POV’s when I got pregnant. She was the once who convinced me to give birth at the Asian Hospital in Alabang even though I was residing in Los Banos, Laguna. I did give birth at the Asian Hospital, and Randy and I never regretted that decision.
So yes, even though we did not spend that much time together physically, she always had a major impact in my milestones (wedding and giving birth).
That’s why when I was invited to her 4th blogversary and first major blog celebration, I knew I had to attend! This is despite the fact that that day was a busy one for me. After teaching in OB Montessori Sta. Ana and OB Montessori Greenhills, I wasted no time in going to her party. I was late, but better late than never.
But yeah, better never late. Because had I arrived earlier, I’d have time to take pictures of the beautifully-decorated buffet table and of the bongga giveaways.

And more time to chika with Fleur and the other blogging mommies.
But still, even though I arrived home somewhat late, I was still happy I was there.
Muh-ther Fleur, sorry no photos akitch. Tom Jones na Tom Jones na ako nung dumating ako sa party mo, so paglafang ang inatupag ko. Congrats again sa success ng blog mo, and I’m very happy for you! I believe we can attribute your success to the fact that you radiate so much positivity in life, and because you’re just being your bubbly self. You’re definitely a breath of fresh air in the blogosphere. I pray you’d remain down-to-earth. Please don’t be like other popular bloggers who only befriend or follow other popular bloggers.
More success Fleur, and thank you for what you have contributed in my family life.
And, pasensya na hindi ko naituloy ang “Mommy Fleur speak”…hanggang two sentences lang ang kinaya ko. Hope to see you again soon muh-ther!
Tell me what you think!
