More than a month ago, I posted the following on Instagram:
And so you’re all wondering after almost two months: Pwes, anyare?
Wala ba kayong nakikita? Kung wala kayong nakita, ‘yun ang sagot. Wala.
So really, anyare?
In fairness, I lost four pounds naman. However, I have valid excuses once more. First, kasalanan ni Alona (our helper). Inengganyo ako uminom ng slimming tea n’ya. And how could I not be tempted? She lost so much weight with that tea! She’s a living proof that it worked. And, another in fairness, in the first days I was actually slimming down. It definitely helped curb my appetite and made me even more enthusiastic to exercise.
Speaking of exercise, in fairness to me, ang sipag kong mag-exercise during those days. Even Randy was impressed! Every time I felt like I overate (My Fitness Pal is a great app!), I would burn the excess calories in our elliptical machine. Happily pa! Why?
The elliptical machine was perfect! For one, it’s readily available. I need not go out. ‘Pag feel kong magpapawis, anjan lang s’ya.
And I mentioned that I exercise happily, right? T’was because whenever I exercised, I’d watch Pretty Little Liars–one of my guilty pleasures. Pretty Little Liars is purrr–fect for me!
I on the elliptical machine, still wearing an oversized shirt I used when I slept, and watching Pretty Little Liars
Why? First, I get so engrossed with the plot and the fear factor that I barely notice the time…my legs would just move on their own. Second, the girls and their outfits are so inspiring! When I felt like giving up, Aria Montgomery or Spencer Hastings would appear in outfits I soooo love. Then my brain would tell me: “Hoy hindi bagay sa mataba ‘yang outfit ni Aria!” or “Tamo ang braso ni Spencer ang ganda!” And just like that I could go on and on and on for a longer time.
Don’t you just love Aria’s quirky fashion sense? I certainly do! Image lifted from liveinfashion.wordpress.com

That was my routine for more than two weeks until an unfortunate thing happened: the belt of our elliptical machine got broken.
Bummer! And this was the third time it happened (during the first two instances, it was Randy who was using the machine)! We complained about it to the sports house where we bought the elliptical machine. They said they’ll order a new belt and text me as soon as a belt becomes available.
Not wanting to lose my momentum, Randy bought me a new pair of running shoes so I could try jogging/running.
But running was not for me. I got so bored running! In the 45 minutes that I jogged, I was really dragging myself! And not once did I come across a girl/lady/woman whose outfit-ey could have inspired me. Not that there were no fas-yown ladies at UP campus ha? There are actually a lot. I just realized that since I was running early, the ladies I came across with probably had to rush out of their dorms to their classes so hindi na masyadong nag-effort sa outfit-ey.
And there ladies and gentlemen why my Balik Alindog Project was put on hold. I could not keep my diet because I can’t just eat 1,200 calories per day! I need to do my cardio to burn off the excess of the 1,200 calories! I kept waiting for the the sports house to tell me that a new belt was available but until now, nada!
And so Randy decided to buy a new elliptical machine. This time, one without a belt—magnetic na! Its price is double the one with the belt. But what good is an inexpensive elliptical machine if it breaks down when you use it with gusto, right?
Here’s our new, magnetic elliptical machine:
See? No belt! And because it has no belt, it’s almost noiseless! Our old one with belt creaks very noisily that I always had to amp up the volume of our TV! Moreover, I believe it gives more accurate measurements. This morning I spent 54 minutes on it (watching PLL of course! I only stopped when Raviv started climbing the machine with me), and here are my stats:
Yep, I burned 424.6 calories! Kung sa luma ‘yan, 1,000 calories kuno! But this is more reliable because it’s really the average number of calories one burns given the number of minutes spent. At least, I’m not getting any false hopes. With our new elliptical machine, I sure hope magtuluy-tuloy na ako hanggang bumalik na talaga ang alindog ko!
By the ways guys and gals, if you’re thinking of buying an elliptical machine, I’d say “Gora!” Really, it’s so convenient and you won’t feel guilty watching a series or a movie or a TV show because you can do something worthwhile along with it. And I really suggest you get the magnetic one. Randy and I really regret buying the one with the belt! Nasayang lang ‘yung pera dun. This is one of those things that you need to not listen to the Tita Cory Aquino and Madame Cory Quirino in you.
“De-belt” elliptical machine…so flimsy that we had to buy another one!
Anyhoo, good night dearies! Need to wake up early para tuluy-tuloy pa ang #BalikAlindogProject. Promise, ia-achieve natin ito:
How did you do this Victoria Beckham?!? HOW?!?
And when this happens, ire-require ko rin si Randy na maging ganito:
