So what preempted this 2013 pahabol resolution?

Ang pagkaalintana ng Balik-Alindog Project
This morning after some unat-unat I decided to exercise on our elliptical machine in our bedroom while watching–you guessed it—Pretty Little Liars. And then every once in a while someone would knock on the door and then ask me something, or ask me to move because they need to get something in our bedroom. I know it’s not their fault for doing their jobs but still being disturbed intermittently was annoying the beehive out of me. But let me clarify ha, I did not scream at them or anything. I was just annoyed.
When I expressed this to Randy he said that it was my fault, because I started exercising at 7 a.m. He said I should start no later than 6. Hrmpft. Well I knew he was right, but I also knew I was no early riser, so I with a scowl on my face I just shut up.
And then when I went to the office to check on things that were supposed to be brought to our partner schools within the day, something I saw made heaven crash on me and made me implode!

See, yesterday we went to our Sta. Rosa City office because it was one of those rare instances when Motherhood had a whole afternoon free, and she hasn’t seen our structure there. It was a perfect timing because we had to bring some documents to our Sta. Rosa City office to be reproduced 4,000 times. When we arrived there, I handed the documents to the staff there. Randy asked me to check whether our staff will be reproducing the right documents. I brushed him off since I was sure of those docs—they have been proofread several times by several people. I was too lazy to think of work because I was already in pasyal mode.
Dewmaine, breathe in, breathe out! Breathe in, breathe out! Repeat up to 4,000 times!
Now back to this morning. As we were preparing the materials to be dropped off to our partner schools, something that shouldn’t have been reproduced caught my eye. And then another, and another, and another until I can no longer count them. Turns out that the page I said should be finalized later was included in the documents that was reproduced 4,000 times!!! My gas my gas my gas!!! Stress Orena-Drilon + Imbyernadette Sembrano rolled into one ako!!! Talagang I was hyperventilating and was pounding on the documents. Of course kasalanan ito ni Beloved Protégé ko, as I’ve already told him to exclude that page, yet he failed to communicate it to the admin staff who printed it. But I knew it was also my fault, because I should have looked at the contents of the envelope that was to be reproduced. More than at anyone, I was angry at myself…I was angry because I wanted to blame someone yet the first person I can think of blaming is…myself!
Hong “sweat” namaaan…
I went to Randy to sumbong myself. I was so angry at myself that I craved for a tongue lashing from someone. I told him it was my fault, and that I did not listen to him yesterday. He said, “Shucks” and frowned a little. And then I sumbonged myself even more, saying I was so irresponsible and all. And then in a very diplomatic and patient manner (in fairness, no trace of sarcasm), he explained to me why we should still check things especially if it was going to be reproduced thousands and thousands of times.
And probably because he was so gentle on me (hindi sa sinisiraan ko si Perfectionist Randy ha but this was unexpected…I really expected to be told how irresponsible I was and how much moolah was wasted because of me), I just started to promise I will change for the better. I promised that BEFORE 8 a.m. I will already be in the office and that I won’t open my Facebook or anything unrelated to work while working.
And after I said that Randy seemed glad and gestured to hug me. Hug me!!! Since I was still angry at myself, I told him I was sweaty and smelly. He said it was OK, and that he’d still love to hug stinky ole me. Awwwww. #MalandiKaDewmaine #AlamKongWaEpekItongHashtagNaTo
Ano’ng apelyido ni Punisher?
E ‘di “Rano”. As in Punisher Rano. Gets?!? Mwehehe. (Naloloka na ako!)
Anyhoo, I punished myself today. I was the last one to leave the office and I barely checked Facebook or any of my social media accounts. Aaaand, I think I was able to accomplish several things.
Planned the next day’s tasks – CHECK!
Coordinated my appointments tomorrow – CHECK!
Updated and submitted requirements for our legal battles – CHECK!
Contributed valuable recommendation for a smoothsailing operations this summer – CHECK!
Vastly improved our employees’ contract – CHECK!
Bought office materials – CHECK!
Guess where I bought 30 pieces of sturdy bag-envelopes that will serve as our teachers’ kit at P110 each, plus more?!?
Where else but at Novo, the ultimate Cheapskate’s Paradise! In fact, I already have this card:
O ‘di ba?!? Magbabago na talaga ako for the better. Guys, humor me and allow me to share my proposed everyday schedule to myself. Sana magustuhan ni Dewmaine ang proposal na ‘to. Sana maisip n’ya na this is for her own good, and that I wish her no harm.
- 5:45 a.m. – wake-up, as in Bangon Pilipinas! Bawal ang unat-unat. Kung gustong mag-unat-unat gumising nang mas maaga sa 5:45 a.m.!
- 5:45 – 6:15 a.m. – quiet time. You know, I noticed that when I go without reading the Bible and praying for days, mainitin ang ulo ko and ang tamad ko. We really need our Daily Bread.
6:15 – 6:30 a.m. – Prepare Raviv’s clothes and baon. Hey in fairness to me, I am always the one who prepares Raviv’s school stuff, as in everyday. Ergo Raviv’s baon at school is never junk food. It’s always something healthy and there’s always a fruit. Aaand, Randy is happy because Raviv is always well-dressed. You know how simple Randy is right? But he has mentioned to me several times how glad he is that Raviv is always well-dressed. He said he pities kids na binihisan lang daw nang basta-basta. Si Randy na ‘yan ha!
- 6:30-7:30 a.m. – Balik Alindog Project cum Ellen Adarna time. Alam n’yo na ‘yan!
- 7:30-8 a.m. – Get dressed and get my booty into the office
- 8 – 11:30 a.m. – Work kung work. Wala munang Facebook or whatever!
- 11:30 – 1 p.m. – Fetch Raviv from school, have lunch and rest or whatever basta lunch break
- 1 – 5 p.m. – Work kung work uli! Wala na uling Facebook and whatever!
- 5- 6 p.m. – Driving lessons. Yes, dears! Malapit na malapit na!!!
- 6-10:30 p.m. – dinner, Raviv and Randy time, blog time, me time!
- 10:30 p.m. – lights out
Hay. Sana matupad ko ‘to. Guys, I’ll really try and I hope I’ll also be able to inspire you. If you were like I whose excuse is the jaded, “’Coz I’m a night person eh!”, let me tell us this:
Gumising na tayo sa katotohanang kaya lang tayo night person eh kasi tinatamad tayo sa responsibilities natin ‘pag araw, at dahil ‘yung happenings natin ‘pag gabi ang mas type natin!!!
And alam naman natin that successful people are early risers ‘di ba? Much as we’d like to be inspired by people who do nothing yet somehow became rich, they’re the exception and NOT the rule.
Before I go, I’d like to dedicate this song to us who want to change for the better. And to Randy as well for being calm and composed about my boo-boo.
Sana na-touch kayo. Good night everyone!
Tell me what you think!
