A month ago, I felt like Celine Dion singing, “It’s All Coming Back”.
See, a few days before we left for Thailand we attended a birthday party. It was a birthday party I could not afford to miss, as it was the birthday of one of my fashion icons, Giada Legaspi.
Giada who?
Hehehe. If you’re new to my blog, Giada Legaspi was Raviv’s classmate at his toddler school (but she has left and is now going to a pre-school). It used to be that when we brought Raviv to school, I’d always check out Giada’s outfit and drool. And if she hasn’t arrived yet I’d linger and wait for her. She’s just one of the best dressed little girls I’ve ever met talaga!
Anyhoo, Raviv was invited to her party. Randy and I went with Raviv, and here’s what I wore:
And here’s a closer look at the details:
- Silk sleeveless top from BCBG Max Azria
- Brown leather belt from a thrift shop
- Yellow sling bag from Charles & Keith
- Gray skinny jeans from Greenhills Shopping Center
- Gray pump wedges from Zara Basic
The return of Capt. Raviv!
The night before the party, Andrea (Giada’s mommy) texted me and advised that Raviv may arrive in a costume, as Giada’s classmates would be coming straight from a trick or treat thus they’d also be in costumes. Raviv wanted to be Spider-Man (no surprise here), but I insisted he wear the pirate costume he wore last Halloween. I knew we would be in Thailand during trick or treat season and he won’t be able to reuse his pirate costume. Sayang naman ‘di ba? So I coerced Raviv to be a pirate once more. I just brought with us his Spider-Man costume as spare. Good that I insisted on this, as it barely fit Raviv! Ginamitn ko na ng safety pin para hindi pumutok ‘yung sa part ng tummy ni Robust Raviv!
Capt. Raviv and Princess Giada
Giada had a Disney princesses McDonald’s birthday party. We arrived at the party quite early, so syempre picture-picture muna ang mga bagets.
Ang cute nila ‘no? 🙂 I’ve always said that Giada seems like Raviv’s female version: Giada is also spirited, full of spunk, aaaaand magaling magdala ng mga damit! Promise kung nakita n’yo rin mga outfits ni Giada sa school magiging fashion icon n’yo rin siya! I’ve wanted to take pictures of her kaso hindi ko pa nakakachika ang mommy n’ya dati.
Anywho, while waiting for the formal party to begin, Raviv did some coloring while Randy and I chatted with Andrea briefly.
And then the party began. Raviv was not able to join the games as he was still too young. Buuuut, I was able to join the game for parents. I had fun! Too bad Randy was busy taking care of Raviv so I had no photos.
Spider-Man lives!
In the middle of the party, sinumpong si Ravivo. He missed his afternoon nap and snacks. Good thing I brought his Spider-man costume! When he saw it, he insisted a change of costume! And just like that, the tantrum was gone. Spidey, hero ka talaga!
Kita-kits sa McDo…
You know, I’ve always had a soft spot for McDo. Love ko ‘to! talaga. See, this McDonald’s was my tambayan when I was in college. I have soooo many memories here: a friend throwing catsup onto her enemy’s face (HAHAHAHA!), my cellphone being stolen by one of the crew, gazillions of afternoon snack dates with my best friends, “group studies”, stalking my crushes here, and so much more!
Since Randy is no fan of McDo (hmpft, palibhasa wala pa ‘tong McDo na ito during his time in college in UP!), it was my first time to return here in a loooong while. Aaand, I was pleasantly surprised to have found out that I love McDonald’s fried chicken and spaghetti! It used to be that my only orders were the cheeseburger meal and longganisa meal (for breakfast). I dunno know whether it’s my taste buds that have changed or whether it’s the fried chicken and spaghetti’s timpla, basta I love, love it!
The special guest
As we were about to finish eating, Giada and her guests’ special guest arrived!!!
And as we were all greeting Giada’s special guest, nagparamdam din sa akin ang sarili kong special yet totally unwanted guest.
My own “special” guest
See, on that day, may bisita rin ako. Itong bisitang ito ay buwan-buwan dumarating. Love-hate ang relationship namin. Just like most other females, nakakaistorbo siya, sobra. Pero panic mode naman ang karamihan ‘pag hindi siya bumisita on its scheduled visit. Gets?!? Hahaha!
Anyway, I knew na nakiki-transient siya sa akin earlier pa. In fact, before attending Giada’s party, I have changed its, errr, “beddings”. Aaand, Whisper pa ang beddings n’ya as I know magkakalat siya ‘pag hindi Whisper na pang-Heavy Flow and Overnight.
When I stood up to meet and greet Birdie, sabi nga ni Claudine sa commercial n’ya years and years ago,
“I felt a sudden gush of wetness…ang lakas!”
I was flustered yet I was confident—kakapalit ko nga lang ng beddings and 1,000 thread count ang ginamit kong beddings! But noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! “It” happened to me. Para akong high school uli na clueless pa sa mga ganyan-ganyan thus the “accidents”!
Grabe, until now nacacahiya pa rin pala talaga, hahaha! Sabi na eh I should have used a tampon. But then again, kakapalit lang talaga ng “beddings” and an hour has just passed!
And so ‘yun. We had to rush home right away without saying a proper goodbye to our hosts. (Andrea, this is the “personal emergency” I texted you about.)
And yes, this is also why I don’t have many photos of moi during the event. Alangan namang picture-an ko pa ang evidence ng pagkakalat ng bisita ko ‘di ba?!? Hehehe.
Truly, this day was a true-blue flashback Friday. Mwehehehe!
