On this day, Raviv’s toddler class was scheduled to have the students’ pictures taken. So although there was no dress code and I always make it a point that Raviv always looks good in school, I took extra effort in Raviv’s porma today. Here’s what he wore to his toddler class’s picture-taking:
Binatang–binata na ang little man ko ‘no?!? Aaand, he carried his outfit rather well, doncha think?
I know that the rolled-sleeves polo on top of a cotton shirt is already common. But this is the first time I let Raviv wear such an ensemble because:
- I don’t like this on adults. I usually see this porma (polo on shirt) either on a woman who tries to look like man (to hide boobies, I guess) , or a vertically-and-horizontally-challenged guy with no fashion sense.
- Raviv easily sweats, and he sweats a lot…layered clothing will just make him sweat like a pig! Thus the shirt I had him wear under the polo was very, very soft and made of thin fabric.
Here’s a closer look at the details of my little man’s outfit-ey:
- plaid long sleeved polo: The Children’s Place
- orange inner shirt with soccer ball print: Osh Kosh B’Gosh
- stonewashed skinny jeans: Zap from SM Department Store
- shoes: Florsheim Kids
The picture-taking took place on a day Raviv does not go to school (he goes to school only thrice a week so we have time to pasyal on weekdays), so after about an hour we fetched him already. When I went to his classroom, he and his classmates were eating their snacks. Then his teachers bore bad news: the photographer was still there because she still has not gotten a good shot of Raviv, for Raviv refused to smile! They said they did everything but to no avail. Hu-waaaah! Sayang ang japorms! Of course I helped make him smile. Kung anu-ano nang pinagsasasabi ko to make him smile: “Peter Parker!”, “Smile na anak we will buy you Lego”, “You can’t come with us if you don’t smile!”, “Sige na baby please smile…” but nothing worked! Until I saw the cute girl on the other table, silently eating her snacks…Eureka!
Me: Raviv, look at Yuna! Isn’t she pretty?
Raviv’s teachers: Oh yes Raviv, there’s Yuna oh!
And then we could all see Raviv fighting off a huge grin on his face!
Me: Yiiiii Raviiiiiiv, look at Yuna!
Raviv’s Teachers: Raviv smile at Yuna!!!
Raviv turned beet red and was already covering his face, suppressing a smile off his face!
Yuna, on the other hand, looked at us, frowned and said, “Hey, that’s not funny!”
And we all laughed all the more! Hihihi! Puppy love at its finest ang drama ng mga bagets!
After more whispers of bribery and threats, the photographer was finally able to get a good shot of Raviv…whew!
In the car, I told Randy what took us so long inside. Randy expressed his disappointment over why Raviv didn’t want to smile! We told him we’re sad and all. Raviv then promised he’ll always smile from then on.
And true to his words, he smiled and smiled and smiled when Randy took photos of him with Khaleesi the bitch:
At sa kaka-smile, napaihi na sa pantalon! Ahihihihi. But even then, smile pa rin kahit naka-briefs na lang!
Fat chance, my baby bear! We will never ever tire of your smile. Sabi nga ni James Taylor:
Whenever I see your smiling face,
I have to smile myself
Because I love you, yes, I do.
And when you give me that pretty little pout,
It turns me inside out.
There’s something about you, baby,
I don’t know.
