This third quarter, Raviv has already been transferred to the iExplore Class from the iDiscover class. I was so excited to hear this, because before the start of the his second quarter at school, the head teacher of his iDiscover class told me she has long recommended Raviv to be transferred to the iExplore class, as Raviv was already ready to be in the bigger and older kids’ class even though he was still several months away from his third birthday.
Unfortunately at that time the iExplore class was jam-packed and there was no slot for my baby bear.
On Raviv’s first day of classes this year (start of his 3rd quarter), I was not able to go with him to school as our busy months have already begun—I left early for an important meeting. Imagine my disappointment when, upon getting home, I was told that Raviv was already transferred to the iExplore class!!! He was brought to his old classroom but then his teachers told Yaya Isay that Raviv was to go to iExplore already!
So the following day, I made sure I would accompany Raviv to his second day of classes in his new class. Here he was a few minutes before Randy and I brought him to school:
Here is my little boy’s outfit details:
- cotton vest: Bradley (available at SM Dept. Store)
- stone-washed skinny denims:
- shoes: Tough Kids (available at SM Dept. Store)
- glasses: Garfield
He looks downright happy, right?
He was crying before and after these photos were taken!
He cried because…guess why? Well, it has something to do with Spider-man! He wanted to wear his Spider-man costume to school, but of course I did not agree to that. To convince him it was OK to wear something else aside from his Spider-man costume, I showed him his Spider-man book and made him realize that Peter Parker does not wear his costume to school. He was speechless for a while and thoroughly inspected Peter Parker’s outfit. A few seconds after, OK na siya—he was already willing to be dressed like a normal kid. Whew!
But then after I dressed him, he looked into Peter Parker’s out fit and saw Peter Parker was wearing glasses! So ayun, he insisted on wearing eyeglasses! Dapat black din daw ang frame! Good thing we have such eyeglasses (thanks to the SM Kids’ Fashion lootbag that was given to Raviv during the ToonFest launch)!
But again it did not end there. The little boy insisted on wearing his red-and-blue Florsheim shoes, because “Red and blue si Spider-man!”. Since I believed that his yellow and blue rubber shoes would complement the whole ensemble, we had to inspect Peter Parker’s outfit again. When he saw that Peter parker did not really wear a blue-and-red pair of shoes, he relented. Whew!
Our driver and I brought Raviv to school. But as we were nearing his school, he clutched me and said, “I don’t want to go to the big kids’ class. Gusto ko sa small kids lang.” Patay na. When we parked in front of the iExplore class, he did not want to get off the car. He kept on saying he wanted to go back to his old class. Naawa ako. It dawned on me that he has probably fallen in love with his old classroom, his teachers, and of course his classmates (bilang andun pa sa iDiscover ang love interest niyang si Yuna. But as of writing, hindi na raw niya crush si Yuna. Pero feeling ko ayaw niya lang na niloloko ko siya kay Yuna. Hahaha!). He was in that class since he was 1.5 years old…that means half his life, he spent it in that classroom and with some of the people there! To get him down, I told him we will go to his old room first. We went there and I told his teachers he was just visiting. When I told him we should leave and head to the iExplore class, eto na. Umiyak na. I had to carry him for us to go to the other class, and when got there he cried even more. He hugged my leg and would not let go of me…muntik pa ngang mahubad ‘yung jeans ko sa paghila niya! But even though my heart was breaking for Raviv, I knew I had to leave him. I knew that in the future, he would come to love his new classmates, classroom, and teachers.
And true enough, the next day he was brought there, he already smiled upon entering his new room and smiled upon seeing his new friends.
Tell me what you think!
