Last Wednesday I got the bill from the law firm handling our case. Nanlambot ako sa kamahalan, sa totoo lang. More so as I was halfway through my dieting…hindi ko maibuhos ang depression ko sa pagkain (I’m an emotional eater–I eat haphazardly when I’m sad, and forget about eating when I’m giddy). It was the email I’ve been dreading for the past month. It got me depressed—isang limited edition LV bag na rin ‘yun! Good thing Randy was being optimistic and convinced me not to feel so bad about it. And then my ire for the persons who caused all these troubles resurfaced again. I swore to myself they will pay for every centavo—plus more—that we have spent for our lawyers once we file the case/s against her/them. And I can think of no reason for us to lose. Guys, unsolicited tip lang: when you know you’re in the wrong, just apologize. Apologize profusely and sincerely. Don’t make excuses. If the person you wronged expresses his anger toward you, just apologize more. Apologies go a long way, I tell you. Time and sincere apologies can melt even the hardest heart. Never ever convince yourself you did no wrong just to salvage your pride when deep in your heart you know deep in your heart you’re at fault.
Anyway, positive na tayo. It was good that on that same day, I got pleasant surprises—gifts, actually. First, I received two packages from LBC:
Katuwa ‘no? 🙂 Pero ito, hindi ko kinaya. When I first read about it, I thought I misunderstood:
What’s surprising about this is that I have never met Ms. Eva Eugenio. We’re also not related whatsoever. I just first encountered her on the MomsterTeacher fanpage. She first posted there almost two years ago, when I wasn’t even actively blogging yet. She would praise my posts and tell me she loves my blog. I checked her Facebook account and found out she is a Filipina who lives in the US. And then last December she added me as a friend on Facebook. She thanked me for accepting her friend request, and said she’s been a fan since MomsterTeacher’s early days pa. That already was very touching, right?
And then Ms. Eva gifted Raviv…all the way from the US! I was advised to claim the money right away (lest a crook come up with a fake ID and pretend to be I). When I was at Western Union, I was half-expecting the cashier to say that no money was sent to me talaga. But lo and behold: totoo nga! The amount she gave was ample, but that was not why I was maluha-luha when I got the money from Western Union…it was the thought! I don’t want to say this but there are times when I feel so bad when I notice that some persons who I think should love Raviv just ignore him. Or worse, act as though Raviv’s a mere nuisance when Raviv’s even making them feel welcome. Alam mo ‘yung sinusubuan pa ni Raviv ng pagkain tapos nakasimangot or dine-deadma pa ‘yung bata?!? I’m not saying my son is the cutest or the most charming toddler in the world. But he is cute and charming and smart…and that’s a fact (itanong pa natin sa talent agents niya. At sa mga nagla-Like ng pictures at videos n’ya. ;)) That’s why Ms. Eva’s thoughtfulness is such a HUGE deal. Hindi ko kamag-anak, hindi ninang ni Raviv, ni hindi ko man lang nga nami-meet pa in person, at ang layu-layo but still she thought of Raviv. Kahit nanay na may pusong bato mata-touch talaga sa gesture na ‘yun.
So on behalf of the Ladaga family Ms. Eva, here’s Raviv’s for you:
God bless your heart, Ms. Eva! We hope Raviv’s kisses reach you in California!!!
Tell me what you think!
