Yesterday, Raviv and I were invited to watch the block screening of Cinderella at Shangri-La Plaza. It’s part of my project with PLDT Telpad—because Disney is now on PLDT Telpad! It’s all very exciting and I’m gonna tell you more about it on a separate post.
Two days before the event, I was told to dress up Raviv in a prince costume. And honestly naloka ako sa kakahanap ng prince costume. Every nook and cranny of department stores there are all kinds of princess costumes with all the effects and abubots, but there was nary a prince costume! Not even a prince crown! Or kahit anong crown na buo na walang balahibo! Then I realized why there was a dearth of prince costumes: I have yet to meet a little boy who fantasizes of being garbed in fancy clothing to pursue a “beautiful princess” just to dance and sing with her. Kaya siguro walang prince costumes.
Buuuut, being the ever innovative and resorceful mommy that I am, nagawan ko nang paraan. And what’s the result? My Amorcito won 3rd place Best in Costume yesterday. The 2nd and 1st places went to princesses (but I think, if only the judges knew how difficult it was to come up with a prince costume, there’d be no contest and Raviv would have won 1st place).
Anyway, aside from Raviv’s triumph and our watching of Cinderella, the bigger news is that Randy missed all of these yesterday!!! Yes, he failed to see his son smiling for the cameras whose flashes kept blinking on his face in front of a theater in a roomful of people!
Baket kamo? Kasi busy at aligaga ang lolo natin. Actually, he has refused to leave home since last week.
That’s because he got a bitch pregnant, and he has been taking care of that bitch.
Yes, bitch talaga! Am I bitter that I’m calling this preggers a bitch? Bitter maybe a bit, but I swear to you she’s a total bitch. Wanna take a look so I can prove to you whatta bitch she is? Here:
Whatta bitch, right? Hahaha!
Anyway, that’s Khaleesi our female bullmastiff. She actually gave birth yesterday via C-section. Galina Marconia, Khaleesi’s breeder and Randy’s advisor, told Randy it would be better for Khaleesi to give birth via C-section so no puppy would be stressed and all of them would be born healthy and strong. So when Khaleesi’s “due week” arrived, Randy really refused to be anywhere far from her. He said he has to be there daw talaga when Khaleesi starts her labor. Galina (or the vet?) told him to check Khaleesi’s temperature every now and then. And when the normal temperature drops, it means that Khaleesi’s labor has begun. So si Randy parang adik—I swear it’s like he had been checking Khaleesi’s temperature every half hour since Thursday. Khaleesi’s pregnancy was all he could talk about—to me, to our helpers, and on the phone! And he has this army of bullmastiff enthusiast friends who would message and text and call him every now and then, asking about Khaleesi. Gaaaah! When I accused him that it seemed as though he was more excited and involved in Khaleesi’s giving birth than he was during my pregnancy and imminent “labor day”, he couldn’t deny it. Instead, he laughed and asked me whether I was jealous. #MukhangGuilty
And so yesterday before heading to Shangri-La, I asked Randy again whether there was a chance he might want to join us. He said deadpan, “Ano sa tingin mo?” OK fine. We get it! But it turns out he was right not to join us, because yesterday while Prince Raviv was charming people, Khaleesi started her labor and so the “doting feeling-father” immediately brought her to the vet.
Today when we got home, Raviv immediately visited Khaleesi’s puppies. My Amorcito was happy to see Khaleesi’s nine healthy puppies!
Honestly, I’m not jealous on the attention and affection Randy showers on Khaleesi and her puppies. At the onset, I knew that Khaleesi would always be Randy’s favorite bitch. And as you can see from how the bullmastiff community reacts, Randy isn’t alone in his excitement. Whenever Randy would tell me that another dog enthusiast expresses genuine interest to buy a puppy, or that the buyers’ waiting list is overflowing, I am genuinely happy for him. Talaga. Because, you know, the Drogo X Khaleesi (under the tutelage of Randy Ladaga…naks!) litter is really something to get excited about for bullmastiff enthusiasts! Just look at this pedigree, not to mention that Khaleesi and Drogo are Grand Champions themselves!
And to prove to me even further how truly exciting the puppies are, check out this recent exchange between me and my best friend on Facebook:
Ayan. Pati Ninang ni Raviv, susugod agad bukas. Gravity! LOL!
On a serious note though, if you or anyone you know is interested to buy Drogo and Khaleesi’s puppies, do give Randy a message through his “online kennel”: Flat Rocks Bullmastiffs
Though so many people have already expressed interest in buying the puppies, Randy has not accepted any payments yet so it’s still good. Be warned though that Randy will have to ensure that his beloved puppies’ new owners will have the ability and interest to care for them. That means regular dog walks, a sanitary kennel (no dark, dirty, stinky and cramped dog cages please!), and a loving home at the least. 😉
