Two nights ago I had a reunion (after almost 3 months) with my college best friends, Zaira and Chrys, here at home. For the nth time, it almost didn’t push through. But my convincing powers worked, wink wink.
For Chrys, my “Nagtanggal pa naman ako ng alikabok!” sumbat cinched the deal. She said that upon reading that statement of mine on our Viber group, she knew I’ll pursue our meeting by hook or by crook. You know how our home is under renovation, right?) (And thus under a lot of kalat, too!) But. NAGTANGGAL AKO NG MGA ALIKABOK! That’s a big deal, and she knows it.
Zaira, on the other hand, would be coming from a different town and had to babysit her niece after work. Her “Try ko humabol” didn’t convince me. So I warned her on our Viber chat: “Pag hindi ka pumunta, isusumbat ko na bakit sa friend mong si *****, lagi kang may time!”
A few minutes after, Chrys called me, laughing. Zaira is sure to come because of my threat. [Insert evil laugh with matching thunderclaps. 😈⚡️]
Because I threatened them and they caved in, it was but fitting that I prepare something to eat for them. Something a bit more special than my usual Yakisoba instant pancit canton, hehe. I cooked fried chicken and prepared cheeseburger for them. 🙂
A few minutes before Chrys arrived, I gave strict instructions to our helpers to keep our chaka kitchen stuff: old and ratty potholders, negra-esque pots, and our older-than-Raviv dish rack (complete with hard water stains). I swear that if she sees these things she will dedicate a big part of our evening making fun of these chaka items, especially because our kitchen is now pretty. 🙂

And then Chrys arrived. She was saying that our home has levelled up, my kitchen is mala-Martha Stewart’s already, and so many other nice things. 🤗
And then as we were cozying up in our lovely bar, her eyes caught something:
Let’s zoom in:
Almost all night long, Chrys was demanding what business do the Tanduay GSM Blue and Island Lime have in my kitchen! As in!
So there, my hiding our chaka stuff was in vain. Chrysanthemum Collado’s eagle eyes still caught something. 🙄
By the way, when Chrys arrived, the first thing she said was: “Dewmaine, anong pangalan ng bago n’yong bullmastiff?”
I told her it was Daenerys.
She burst laughing. She said that Marlon, our gardener, said that Randy’s bullmastiff’s name was “Generous” when she asked. Chys thought that we got tired of our Game of Thrones-themed kennel, and decided that “virtues” was a better theme, and our future dogs would be named Purity, Honest, etc. Hahaha!
Anyway, let me introduce you to Randy’s new bitch, Daenerys, aka “Generous”:
