One of the reasons that made Randy excited to go to Baguio was his birding. He and Dodong woke up early on our second day in Baguio to go to Benguet State University to look for birds. That gave Raviv and me plenty of time to catch up on some Zzzzs and just relax.
When they returned, we proceeded to La Trinidad to pick strawberries. At first we had doubts that it was the strawberry picking spot because it looked like a huge market and terminal (there were lots of products and food for sale in small stalls). But when we entered the strawberry farm, the view was breathtaking!
Especially when I blended into the scenery.
- dress: Marni
- leggings: bought from Divisoria
- bag: Proenza Schouler PS1
- flats: Tory Burch Reva
- leather belt: thrift shop
- scarf: Givenchy
- hat: bought from Baguio City market (from when we last went here back in 2011!)
When I posted this OOTD on Instagram, some commented that the scarf on my head channeled Liza Soberano’s Agnes character in Forevermore.
To be honest, I’ve never seen a single episode of Forevermore (but I want to!!! I heard so many good things about it, and even Dodong used to watch it, hahaha!) Someone commented that Liza’s “Agnes” character also wore scarves when picking strawberries, probably to protect her hair.
But in my case, I wore the scarf to “aura” (which Randy didn’t approve of. Mukha raw akong nalagasan ng buhok. Hmpf), bilang ilang paligo pa para umabot tayo sa kalingkingan ng beauty ni Liza.
Anyway while I was aura-ing with the help of Randy, Raviv was having the time of his life picking fresh strawberries (thank God Dodong was with us!).
It was a fun—albeit expensive (because the price of strawberries you pick yourself more than doubles compared to when you just buy them!)—experience. But Raviv loved the experience so much, it was priceless (whenever he ate his strawberries, he would beam with pride because he picked them!)
After picking strawberries, we proceeded to the Good Shepherd Convent to buy pasalubong stuff. It was a Saturday; the traffic and parking were horrible! Randy bought strawberry jams, choco flakes and peanut brittle there.
Before we headed back to The Manor, we had late lunch at the Forest House (this can be found en route Camp John Hay—it’s hard to miss because of Kylie Versoza’s tarpaulins). At least we were able to enjoy the ambiance and eat even if we were not able to sleep here.
The food was okay, but it was the rustic and cozy ambiance of the Forest House that makes it a must-visit place. It will make you feel warm inside while the cool breeze caresses your skin. We had such a filling “late lunch” that we never wanted to have dinner anymore.
It was such a lovely day, except for the fact that Randy bailed on me!!! In the evening, we were supposed to leave sleeping Raviv in our hotel room to have a few drinks in the bar of the lobby. And while I took pains to turn my daywear into an elegant evening wear…
…tinulugan na ako ng magaling kong asawa.
Needless to say, sexy night was cancelled. His loss, not mine. Hrmpft.
