Some of my friends and readers have been asking me why I no longer post Raviv’s OOTDs as often as I used to. That’s because Raviv, who is now 6 years old, has become…conscious! He hates it when I take his video when he says or does something funny, and he often whines whenever I ask him to strike a pogi pose.
While that makes me sad, I want to respect my son’s wishes. What’s cute for us may be embarrassing for him, especially because he’s a reserved boy. And I’m also happy that he’s not too conscious about his looks—again call me sexist or whatever, but I’m just happy that my son enjoys what a normal 6-year-old boy enjoys: playing, and not fretting about his burnt skin or his outfits.
So I guess the time has really come: Lord, gusto ko na po talaga ng anak na babae.
But because that seems still farfetched with everything on my and Randy’s plates (you won’t believe how busy we are this season! At 5 a.m. we’re already on the road. We give lectures while standing and walking and acting at the top of our voices for 6-7 hours. When we get home, all we want to do is slump on bed), all I could do is stare at the photos of pretty, fashionable little girls.
One of them is Francine. Look at her:
We met her and her family once upon a time in the foodcourt of Alabang Town Center. Randy, Raviv and I were all craving of different dishes, so we ended up at the food court. It was a crowded Sunday afternoon, and the only available table was the long table that we shared with Francine’s family. Francine was showing Raviv her new toy. So Raviv showed her his new toy, too. Hehe.
Then I talked to Francine’s parents. I learned that both Raviv and Francine were 5 years old at that time. And just like Randy and I, Francine’s parents were also both alumni of UP Los Banos!
Francine’s mom also related that Francine loves the limelight, and isn’t shy! So I got her contact details and shared it with Raviv’s agent (yes guys, hindi ko nakuwento sa inyo, but Raviv has been approached by several talent scouts already. ‘Yun lang, modeling and acting really aren’t his cup of milk—ayaw niya talaga).
Since then, Francine has been having projects. She’s also modeled for many brands and photographers, and I always beam with pride whenever I see her lovely photos.

Don’t you just love Francine’s beauty? She’s a picture of an Oriental grace, gandang Pinay! I used to think that since Randy isn’t Caucasian, hindi siguro ako magkakaanak ng super ganda, because I used to think mga half lang ang mga standout beauties. But seeing Francine gave me hope, hehe!
In fact, when I saw her photos during the SM Kids Casting Call 2017, she was really a standout even posing with other pretty girls of mixed race. I am hopeful that my “discovery” will be among the Top 10.
