Hello from the parlor–I mean–from the salon (para millennial 😂).
I was supposed to go to the supermarket but when I learned that my local go-to par, I mean salon, is open today, change of plans. Beginning Monday next week, I’ll be Curacha-esque again (you know, walang pahinga). But this prettifying process (roots coloring) is not because of the review classes–it’s because of what’s going to happen tomorrow. 😍
Because tomorrow–drum rolls please–is the day that my braces will be removed!!! Waaah!!! I’m so excited!!! That’s why I’m here in the salon–kasi gusto ko Dewmaine 2018 2.0 na ako bukas, new & super improved version!
Actually my original plan was to get bob cut + volume rebound from Bang’s para super new look. But I love my current subtle-yet-big curls from my last digiperm.
The secret lang pala is months after digiperm, have your tresses layered. I asked the stylist to make the layers “varied”, as in there are really short, long and really long layers. Then after bathing when my hair is still damp, I put my hair into 2 chignons ala-Princess Leia. Or Chun Li. Like this:
After at least 20 minutes, you can let your hair down and vavava-volume galore! Perfect in framing my malapad fez, like this:
I am convinced that this look is super bagay because Randy, who’s such a fan of the Lucy Torres-esque hair, flipped. When he compared my new hair to photos of me sporting long straight hair years ago, he thought my old look was boring. O diba?!?!
However, I have a confession to make: deep inside I’m afraid that the removal of my braces may not happen tomorrow. 😭 That’s because March has been a #Paasa month to me.
Let’s begin with my old MacBook Air. Remember? Last February, I told Randy that I have decided to have it fixed. Bahala na kahit mahal, eh nagmahal pa lalo ang MacBooks this year. So I went to the Powermac Center in Festival Mall.
The receptionist/technician turned on my laptop to check and then SURPRISE–it turned on!!! I was in total disbelief! When she asked for the password, I typed the password and just like that, it worked perfectly fine….I can access my old files!!!
That laptop has been gathering dust in our bodega for the last 2 years and voila, as if nothing ever happened to it. I turned it on several times pa and even watched movies/TV series stored there, and it was perfect!
Then I decided to update the OS (because the notice to update that kept on popping up stressed me out!) At first I thought it was just gonna be tedious because I was asked to get an external drive and save this and that, blah-blah. Do this and that. And then suddenly, it wouldn’t turn on again.
Waaaaah!!! Randy told me I was too ambitious–nabuhay na nga raw galing sa comatose, gusto ko pang i-upgrade agad. I brought it to Powermac again and was told that it zonked out and as their recommendation two years ago, I needed to shell out almost P30,000 again to have it repaired. The worst part is that Powermac can service it only up to this year because it’s an “old” model. Hayst. Umasa lang ako.
My dentist once told me that my braces would be removed in March. So when I went to see him two weeks ago, I was excited—I was expecting to come out of his clinic a changed woman (Char! Haha!) But no, hindi pa raw tatanggalin. 🙁 Umasa talaga ako, to the point that I bought this beautiful pair of earrings pa:
Teka, ano kamong connection ng earrings sa braces?!? Malaki, haha! See, my friend Shanty was encouraging me to buy “Pansinin nyo ako!!!” earrings from Sepacebu. I told her I was veering away from wearing huge earrings because I felt that huge, “busy” earrings don’t complement my braces. If anything, they make me look gaudy because it feels like andami nang nangyayari sa mukha ko. But I also told Shanty that once my braces are removed, I won’t hold back on my earrings anymore. 😁
So when March came, I bought my first earrings from Sepacebu (where Shanty often buys from) only to find out that nye, my braces were still there to stay. 😏
Siguro naiinis na ang dentist ko sa kakakulit ko, so he said he might remove it when I see him again after Holy Week. But since I’m going to be busy once Monday enters, I begged him to do it on Easter Sunday.
Last Thursday, when Raviv was having a playdate with his friends, I saw 2 missed calls from my dentist’s secretary. I called and called but no one picked up. I was so afraid they were calling to postpone my Easter Sunday transformation, huhuhu. But thankfully, I haven’t received any more phone calls or text messages until now. So baka naman tuloy ang laban bukas!
Keeping my fingers crossed! Check my IG stories para updated kayo kung brace-free na ako!
Enjoy the rest of your blessed Holy Week, everyone!
